Although Mother of God Cemetery was founded as a catholic cemetery it is not officially affiliated with the Diocese of Covington. It is managed and operated by the nonprofit Mother of God Cemetery Association, Inc.

Mother of God has been a member of the Kentucky Cemetery Association since 1993.
